🔦VENDOR SPOTLIGHT 🔦 Christine, owner and pet treat baker extraordinaire with Paws in the Sand Pet Treats!
Christine's journey with Paws in the Sand Pet Treats began when she and her husband, Greg rescued Brandy, their first dog together. At 6 years old, Brandy was dealing with ulcerative colitis and was unable to eat many foods.
Christine baked healthy pet treats in her spare time to care for Brandy and shared the treats with family and friends with pets. Of course, they were a big hit!
After baking part-time and donating to rescue and shelter groups for fundraising, Christine decided to focus full-time on her passions of baking hand crafted goodies, pet health and nutrition in 2016. With a background in marketing, Christine enjoys the creativity of designing her regular and custom packaging to appeal to pet parents.
Additionally, she began carrying the pet products of other entrepreneurs including locally made toys, bandanas, collars and other pet accessories by Debbie with Collar My World and Diane of Diane's Crafted Treasures. She is also working on helping her brother Matt of Woofdog Studios grow his pet photography business.
"Having a business that encourages that relationship between a person and their pet is priceless. Having a job that brings joy to pets and the people who love them makes me love what I do more and more every day. Having a career that brings together, supports and promotes hard working pet-based business is my inspiration...I know that if I didn't sell most of these pet items, I would be seeking them out for my own pets!"
You may wonder, as we did, how the name "Paws in the Sand Pet Treats" originated. It turns out that Christine and Greg are beach people. They were married at the beach in Delaware and they travel to beaches in the US and abroad at least 3 times per year to celebrate their important milestones together.
They always look for ways to encourage their pets to enjoy walks in the sand as well. "So many people "equate a beach trip to a time of great fun, peace, comfort, relaxation and joy. They also look at time spent with their pets in the same way – relaxing, fun and full of joy. Paws in the Sand Pet Treats brings that all together with one business and one business name."
